When installed by a professional automated gate company an electric gate will be safe for all to use and will comply with regulations put in place to prevent injury. Electric gate risk assessments have become a major part of our operations and draw on not only our experience but our professional training and qualifications gained through our collaboration with the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF). We can provide a risk assessment with recommendations for private individuals, commercial owners/managers and public facilities. Safety is important for all our customers.
As competent persons, Lifestyle Gates are legally obliged to ensure that any powered perimeter gate system we work on is safe and complies with the appropriate regulations. Landlords, commercial property owners or managers of public facilities are also legally required to ensure automated electric gates are safe and compliant with failings being subject to criminal prosecution.
It is worth noting that private residences are also subject to the Health and Safety at Work Act if the property is a place of work for gardners, cleaners or similar workers. To ensure that an automated gate system is safe it must be fitted with appropriate safety equipment or designed in such a way as to eliminate risk of injury and must be routinely serviced and tested to establish that the system is performing as designed and remains safe.
Our aim is to offer transparency, enabling customers to make informed decisions and plan the best course of action when maintaining or repairing electric gates. Our pricing is based on an hourly labour rate and an initial visit or service will be based on the time it takes our engineer to travel to your property and perform an hour of work. This is usually enough time to perform most repairs and servicing and at minimum is sufficient to diagnose a fault. Before attending we will send you a quotation with proposed course of action and any relevant safety information that we believe you should be aware of. If additional work is required, we will again communicate clearly the expected cost. In some situations, we may agree to perform a site visit to allow a quotation before any cost is incurred.
